The iguana can grow up to five feet long and are fast on land and in water, making them difficult to catch. They don't have any natural predators and South Florida's subtropical climate allows a thriving population. Folks, such as myself who don't see them often find them fascinating and prehistorically cute. Folks that have them swarming around their property, lounging on their sidewalks, destroying their gardens, and swimming in their pools feel very differently about these invasive lizards.
